Building Dreams: Our Projects' Vision for 2025

I would typically start with the usual salutations, but I've been advised it's no longer appropriate this far into the year. Though it's my second week back at work, I'm still not offended when people wish me a Happy New Year!

After stealing an extra week away while the rest of the team was hard at work, I've had time to reflect on the year that has been and what lies ahead for Our Projects.

It's no secret that the past year and a half has been a tough challenge. With numerous well-documented factors pushing people to tighten their belts, we've seen significant changes in consumer spending and demand. The construction industry has been particularly volatile, with many companies and trades closing their doors or moving to perceived greener pastures.

Strategic Partnerships and Market Adaptation

However, with Our Projects, we have continued on with a single focus vision - delivering the best possible service that matches the requirements of our clients. This can take many forms, and our ability to adapt to these needs is one of our strengths.

One move we made last year was to link up with the Combined Building Supplies Co-operative or CBS co-op. This partnership is already translating to better outcomes for our clients, with us now having access to top-tier discount rates as trade partners with many national and local building supply merchants. We are proud to be able to pass these savings on to our clients ensuring they are getting the best out of our partnerships with them.

The Rise of Minor Dwellings

You may have also noticed that we have now put up a Minor Dwelling offering with a comprehensive breakdown of costs. We have seen a strong market pull towards the minor dwelling space across the Auckland and Waikato regions (and beyond). People are looking at smarter ways to invest their money, help young family members move ahead, pool resources, or just have a little bit more time with their loved ones as they age.

It's important to remember that we can take any design and tailor it to your needs. So don't feel constrained by our design offerings – we can make something work for you whatever your constraints are (site access, budget, size). Bringing a tailored approach to this space is where our clients will see the benefits of working with a custom builder like us.

Looking Ahead: Optimism in 2025

2025 is shaping up to be an odd year – but my feeling is there is generally positivity in the construction market. Talking to peers in the industry, there has been strong influx of activity. Clients wanting to move forward with plans they had in place already, or families looking to transform their living situation after a number of years of contemplation.

For me, I am excited. We are looking forward to having an impact in peoples lives by helping them achieve their dreams and changing their living situations for the better.

We also have some great tools which we will be rolling our to our future clients, while also systematically working back through our old clients to offer them the same service. It's an exciting development for us, and hoping this change will help our clients continue to look after their most valuable asset, now and well into the future. More on that soon.
